Broadband without landline

Hi, today I bought the fibre plus broadband in one of your shops, specifying that I don’t have a landline. Now I’ve just received an email telling me that billing will start as soon as the landline will be activated. But I don’t have one, so what do I do now? Thank you

Re: Broadband without landline

The cost of the landline is already included in the price of the BB. No contract is required for the handset. You just buy it, probably for under £10.

If you do start making chargeable calls you will be charged on a per min. basis. Freephone 0800 calls are free & so are any received calls.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance.

Re: Broadband without landline

EE will get a landline installed for you. You must have a landline to carry the BB to your home, even if you don't use it.

Re: Broadband without landline

Thank you for your answer. Does this mean I have to request it or will they do it automatically? Do I have to buy a phone a make a contract for that as well?

Re: Broadband without landline

@Lisa2930 Openreach should install a socket on the day of activation and EE should confirm that with you.

Re: Broadband without landline

No, the product you bought is BB + Home Phone. EE don't sell BB w/out a landline.

You don't need to buy a handset but a cheap corded one could come in useful when you start having trouble with the BB.

Re: Broadband without landline

Thank you very much 🙂

so does this mean that I won’t have any extra costs for the landline? What if I install a corded phon and end up using it, will I need to set up a contract for that? Or are the calls included in the broadband plan?
