Broadband light flashing orange on new Brightbox 2

I recently subscribed to EE. Having receieved my brightbox and having been told that the subscription was active, I set it up today only to be greeted by the dreaded flashing amber broadband light. As far as I am aware, the phone line is fully operational so no issues there but having logged into the admin page for the box the info was as follows

broadband type - ADSL

broadband status - disconnected

internet state - disconnected

time connected - 00.00.00

Does this mean that EE have just been a little premature in telling me that my account is active or do i need to be doing something to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help help or guidance provided.

Basically, yes, you haven't yet been connected to the BB at all. Just leave the router plugged in & wait for the BB light to go green.

Thank you.

Any idea how long it should take? Or is it just a case of wait and see?

How long ago were you told it was active? Give it 24 hours then chase EE.

Does the phone announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

Re: Broadband light flashing orange on new Brightbox 2

I've just tried using the phone and now there doesn't appear to be any dial tone at all. The line was previously provided by BT but we switched that over to EE so I assume they haven't dealt with that either?

No, if the phone's not connected you can't have any BB anyway. It's gonna take more than the 24 hours I thought when you said the phone was working. I guess it's just been taken off BT. You need to keep chasing EE.

Re: Broadband light flashing orange on new Brightbox 2

This happened to me. When I logged on to the router I noticed that my Bright Box 2 had been supplied with someone else's username! I switched the details and password to mine and then I could connect.

@Philtrum: Not when your phone has no dial tone.
