Brightbox 2 won't connect to internet

We have recently upgraded to fibre broadband with EE along with a new brightbox 2 . Our laptop which is quite old and running vista will find the box but won't connect to the internet. I have tried everything ! All phones tablets etc connect with no problem. The laptop connects to other internet devices . This is driving me crazy , any help appreciated.

In the Vista's Network do you see an "Internet Gateway"?

 

Try switching uPnP OFF in the router.
