Bright Box 2 No longer working properly

Hi,

 

My Bright Box 2 has stopped providing me with a 2.4ghz network for some reason. It still shows the 5Ghz one that is fine for my own and my family's mobiles and tablets, but I have an Xbox 360 which doesn't detect it and an android box again which doesn't detect it. I instead have to use a cable and keep switching between both. I also use a booster which can't detect the 5ghz one so I struggle to get any wifi in the upstairs of my house or in the back room of the house. I've tried various troubleshooting ideas but still same issue. I tried a factory reset but that didn't work either.

Did you press and hold the reset pin button for 20 seconds?

 

Was the router working fine previously?

It was working fine, then one day the kids couldn't watch something on Netflix. It was then that I discovered it wasn't quite right. I did various troubleshooting ideas from various sources, but nothing seemed to bring back the 2.4ghz wifi connection. That's when I tried the factory reset.

Please get in touch with our Customer Care Team so our Tech Gurus can help.

 

If they are unable to restore the 2.4GHz connection, they'll get a replacement router out to you.

Is "Enable/Disable wireless" enabled under Advanced / Wireless Settings / SSID Management / 2.4 GHz Settings?

You could try disabling it, then re-enabling (in the same vein as switching a machine OFF then ON 😉 ).
