My work IT department has said that I can’t access a programme on my laptop because of a firewall setting on my broadband. They said quote uk:port8022. EE said they can’t help me because of a risk that they would be liable for viruses. They’ve advised I look on EE forum. Please can anyone help?

EE block no ports.
What are you actually trying to do?

I’m trying to log into an NHS information system - it’s fine at work and also with other people’s wi-fi and I can pair my phone with my laptop and it’ll work intermittently... so it must be the EE service (that’s what the work IT people insist). My son fiddled with it last night and disabled all thefirewalls and it still wouldn’t work ... I’m not much of an IT whizz 😬

Where is this information system running? On your lappy?

How is your phone communicating with the lappy running this service? Using mobile data or by WiFi?

Via wi-fi (excellent strength). I have paired my phone with my laptop and this sometimes works (phone signal isn’t great) but tends to drop which then means I’m timed out from the programme for 30 minutes

What do you mean by "paired"? Are you talking Bluetooth?

I'm still not clear on your set up.
i understand you have used 2 methods of accessing your info system running on your lappy from your mobile:
What is it you do on the phone to access the info system? Is there an app on the phone for it?
