"You can't use the my EE App" Something about my phone configuration?

When i try to open the My EE App i get this error message "You can't use the My EE app. This is because it looks like there may be a problem with the configuration of your device. To manage your account, go to myaccount.ee.co.uk" I'm not what this is or how to fix it

Hi, 

 

Assuming you are on Android then close the app down and go into app management and clear the cache/data and try again. Also the app will not work if your phone is rooted.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are 8am to 9pm weekday, 8am to 8pm on weekends.

I'm getting this message too. It says it's EE's fault and they're trying to fix it.

 

I've tried clearing the cash and data, and rebooting my phone. It isn't rooted either.

 

It won't show my current usage on the My EE website either so I think it is an EE fault.

 

You can still text AL to 150 though.

Do you have the app called Superuser installed?

This is a screenshot of the error message on the My EE website.

 

The full error message when I try to open the app is: "You can't use the My EE app. This is because it looks like there may be a problem with the configuration of your device. To manage your account, go to myaccount.ee.co.uk"

 

Then in smaller text underneath it says: "Something's gone wrong. It's our fault. We're trying to fix it."

The only thing I can think of that's changed recently is I installed an app called Embee Meter CX, which monitors your phone usage: apps you use, websites you visit etc.

 

Maybe the My EE app doesn't like it. I'd rather keep Embee but I still think there's a problem with the My EE website not showing my data allowance.

Well uninstall that app. If MyEE app still doesn't work then it won't be that

I would but it's a market research app and I'm worried about losing my place.

 

You get paid for keeping the app installed. If you uninstall it there's no guarantee you'll get your place back, and if you do you might not earn as much.

 

I can live without the My EE app. It's not essential.

Scrap that. It's not compatible with my S8+

Just an update on this. I used another phone with my sim and the same Embee Meter CX app and the My EE app worked. So I don't think it's the Embee app.

 

My current phone is a Chinese brand: Elephone C1 Max (not rooted). The other phone I used is a Samsung Galaxy A3. Maybe a recent My EE app update has made it incompatible with some phones.
