@millyollis Did you enable roaming on your account before you left the UK ? If not you will have to wait now for customer services to open in the morning (8am UK time). You can then login to your online account and wait for a live chat pop up to appear you can then request a live chat to have roaming enabled on your account. Once enabled it can take up to 24 hours before you get a working signal.

Like @millyollis I did not enable roaming before leaving the UK. I called EE and they told me it would work immediately without my doing anything. It didn't. The SIM is data only in a TP Link mi-fi and I want to use my phone and tablet as clients. I called EE from Spain and was told to go to http://ee.mobilebroadband and set "autoconnect even when roaming" . They tried very hard to help me but to I no avail. However, the page cannot opened as the DNS server cannot be found. EE suggest I wait until I return to the UK in order to do the setting.
Can this issue really be solved on a chat line, please?

Thanks for coming here for help.
I recommend logging into your My EE account on your phone's browser (not the app) or a computer.
Once you're logged in, a chat window will pop up when an advisor is available.
If you can't get in contact with chat, please get in touch from an alternative phone.
