I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and for the past three months my handset is reporting mobile data usage at a level roughly three times greater than that reported on my account by EE. For example, this month so far, EE says I have used around 2.5 GB of data but my phone is suggesting I've used almost 8GB of data. In the previous months, I used around 5 - 6 GB according to my phone, but only 1.5 - 2GB according to EE.
Why would this occur?

For clarity, the figures provided by my phone are for Mobile data only.
Wifi data is recorded separately and is much greater.

Welcome to the EE Community.
Have you set your data counter to start on the same date your data refreshes?

I have checked mine and it's about a few MB out only so nearly about right.
The EE app counter isn't real time so try closing it down and restarting.

i found using the wifi hotspot sometimes it incorrectly dubbles up the data useage (using a VPN or TOR seems to allways do it for me the past)
