Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

Hi @Garethjd,

Welcome to the EE Community. Smiley Happy

We don’t expect your watch to be delayed too long. You will receive a text from DPD when it’s on its way, and you’ll still receive this as soon as they’re released.

Thanks

James

Morning @James_B

my order is due this friday , I have not received any text message's to say it has been delayed yet and MYEE app says its still on track.

I believe most peoples issue with EE is always the last mnute communication from yourselves.

I appreciate its not always possible for you to give percise timescales but why create a thread to advertise something then neglect to provide timely information.

Well it's a bit puzzling at the moment. I had a live chat today with ee and the rep Avishek insisted I would receive 14 days from my pre order which is Friday? I saved the transcript . I don't think  EE know what's going on themselves!

it really is, i think they are just saying that to spare a bit of backlash, untill you phone back on the day.

marriott: afternoon I have a pre order pending that I was advise I would recieve within 14 days , I am after an update please
Avishek:

I will certainly check this for you.

Avishek:

Is it regarding xxxxxxxxxxx?

marriott: yes I ordered a Galaxy watch
Avishek:

Thank you for the information.

Avishek:

Just for some quick security to access your account, can I take the and characters of your password please?

Avishek:

Excellent, that's perfect for security. Thanks for verifying the account.

Avishek:

I see that you have placed the order for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G 42mm Black on 03/11/2018.

marriott: yes
Avishek:

I see that your order is in open sales. Which means due to issue in stock availability and high order queue, the devices are being delivered on first come first basis, as there is huge order queue. All my intension is help you, and as soon as your order is dispatched from our warehouse we will send you a confirmation on xxxxxxxxxxx

Avishek:

Thus it is taking bit more time than usual for the order to get delivered.

Avishek:

That's correct, you will receive it within the 14 days from the date of your order.

marriott: ok thanks

Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

i wouldnt believe that, read earlier up everyone got told within 14 days, people are still waiting and no update by anyone else, plus all stores are still saying pre-order.

Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

Agreed, not sure EE have any exact idea of when they're available and are just using the 14 days reply to save face and collect more sales. Not the end of the world with the delay, it just seems a bit of a farce

Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

Strictly speaking I've been charged an upfront fee already, which I shouldn't have until you actually send it, if I'd have pre ordered the smaller watch then I wouldn't have been charged.

Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

You always get charged the upfront fee. It states an upfront fee for a reason.

You won't be charged your monthly fee until it's dispatched.

Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

You say that but the upfront fee is to help cover the cost of the device, if I ordered the smaller one there is no upfront fee. It's not a reservation fee, and I shouldn't start paying until my device is in stock.

Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

When I say it was a reservation fee?

But upfront costs need to be paid upfront.

It doesn't matter if other devices don't have any upfront fees. You chose one that did.

You are not paying your monthly fees yet so you are not being charged.

Re: The new 4G Samsung Galaxy Watch - Pre-order yours today

BrendonH, you're right with what you say about the upfront fee.

However, the reason people are so annoyed is due to the lack of clarity or updates around delivery. If you look back through this and other threads, customers are being told varying timescales and the order tracking still says 'On track' despite there being a delay... Not exactly great customer care.
