Tethering PAYG. Have SIM 5GB data. Phone ok w tethering w other provider, not EE

PAYG SIM won't let other devices get data signal when tethered. Same phone fine with tethering with my current pay monthly provider.  Is tethering not allowed, PAYG? Do I need EE to enable something?

Is tethering allowed, EE PAYG? My phone is fine with my current pay monthly provider. Does EE need to enable something? Do I need to pay more, PAYG.

Hi @Willwilliams

Welcome to the community. 🙂

Yes, you can use your data allowance to tether your phone to other devices.

Thanks, Chris. Sadly, it won't work for tethering on the phone I have. I got PAYG to try EE out with a view to getting a monthly contract. I don't want to put another £5 top up on to be able to get to tech support, 25 p.

What is the make and model of the phone you have, @Willwilliams?

Does your normal mobile internet work OK?

I'll do my best to help.
