When using my new iPhone 8 to make normal calls the person on the other end complains they can't here me properly and then the signal returns.
The issue is not consistent with one particular place, so if I stand still the signal will come and go.
If I use 4G I can make calls using Whatsapp and there isn't an issue. It works fine on wireless too.
I have had the phone and sim replaced, problem remains the same.

I have tried with 4G off and there didn't appear to be any fading, I will continue to monitor it.
Can I ask, what difference will this make?
I have another device that uses 4G and that doesn't have the same issues in the same places.

The issue happens regardless of the phone on the other end, they vary from iPhone 7 to pay and go from Tesco.
The issue phone is an iPhone 8 direct from Apple, they've replaced the phone and before going back I want to rule out all other causes.

Hello there @JK11
Morning thanks for coming back to us.
Does the same thing happen if you use earphones?
Have you tried resetting the network settings to see if this helps?
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will remove all WiFi passwords you have stored.
Thanks. Leanne 🙂

I haven't tried it with the headphones, what difference do you expect that to make?
The phone today has been almost unusable, people complaining that I couldn't be heard.
I've reset the network settings, I'll see how that goes, but nothing appears to be making any difference.

The using of the headphones has proved a good idea as the calls seem a gret deal better with them. I have removed and refitted the headphones during a call and apparently you can tell the difference, it's better with them in.
The issue I have is this is the second phone I've had this issue with.
Is this a known issue with the iPhone8?
