Hi
I have a new contract with EE and am selling my old HTC One M9 to my friend who wanted it unlocked before she buys.
I got a 3 Sim to use so that I could test if the unlock worked however before I unlocked it I stuck the 3 sim in my old EE phone and it worked straight off on the 3 network no unlocking needed.
I am a tad bemused?
I thought EE phones were all locked?

Hi,
Did your upgrade the M9 via EE direct/EE store or a third party?
Thanks,

Hi Northerner,
It was from a third party (Affordable Mobiles)
thanks

Hi,
EE don't provide third paty sellers with handsets so these phones so it will likely be unlocked by default. Most third party handsets are sourced from the EU so unlocked.
Phones running EE firmware or from EE direct/store will be locked to EE.
Thanks,

Your new phone may be unlocked cuz you got it from Affordable Mobiles, but that doesn't apply to the HTC. Where did you get that?

I got it from Affordable,
