Hello @Frogzpawn the Galaxy Note 4 is a quad band phone and should work in the USA yes. You should receive a text when you first switch your phone on letting you know charges for your destination and how to buy roaming add ons.
If you are a pay monthly customer you will need to check roaming is enabled on your account before you leave by texting the code RO to 150 even if you have a plan with roaming allowances included. More information on roaming can be found using this link. :):

Hello @Frogzpawn your default EE APN settings should work as normal and you should not have to change these when roaming no. 🙂
