Does the 4GEE wifi mini have to have a SIM card in it to work at all times?

I have just upgraded my phone contract and have been sold a 4GEE wifi mini that had half of my mobile data on it as this was the cheaper option. However the man did not explain how it works and has only given me one SIM card and therefore the wifi mini box is not working without the SIM card in it but I need the SIM card for my phone. Is this normal or can the wifi box work without a SIM card?

Nothing seems normal about that.

All MBB routers need a SIM. That's how they work. Didn't it come with 1?

You can't have 2 SIMs with the same mobile no. So where has this half of your mobile data been put? Have you checked your allowances on your contract no?

I think you've been sold a pup or there's a misunderstanding.

Hi @Ameliaf65

Welcome to the community. 🙂

Yes, I believe the MBB will need it's own SIM.

Did you take this out directly with us over the phone or in an EE store?

I'll do my best to help you with this.

Chris
