Despite assurances from a local store, My father in law is unable to text or call from abroad.
i have been unable to locate the live web chat in order to try and resolve the problem.
have turned off iMessage but still

Hello @Jamiewales the account holder can log in to their MYEE account online and navigate to MYEE>manage device to check if roaming is enabled on the account. Live Chat can be accessed using one of these ways. :):

Can I confirm if he has checked to see if Dial Assist is activated?
He needs to go into
Settings >>> Phone >>> Dial Assist
Please make sure the toggle is set to ON.
If that doesn't help, your father in law will need to please get in touch with customer services via an alternative mobile or a landline number.
