Just got a pay-as-you-go plan, and tried tying the account to my mobile banking application. It appears that I am unable to receive the verification sms, meaning that I am unable to link my account to the phone. I've checked with Barclays and they said that their system is working fine. EE staff said that it is the same too.
I've noticed that this problem has occured on the EE network previously. Does anyone have any suggestion as to how I can rectify it?
@frustrateduser6: It may be that you have previously asked EE to block Premium Rate nos. & EE are counting Barclays as such. You could ask EE to stop blocking Premium Rate nos. but you open yourself to getting reverse-charged texts from subscription sites you may fleetingly visit.
OTOH: I'm on O2 & have Premium Rate nos. blocked. Yet I do receive texts from Barclays incl. the initial ones from their mobile banking app. I can't think what the diff could be between EE & O2 in this respect or whether there are certain grades of Premium Rate nos.
