I have inherited my sons old orange payasyougo iphone 3GS and want to use it as a spare holiday telephone using a local sim overseas. The phone is still locked and I do not have original sim but I do have the IMEI number. Can EE unlock this phone for me, and how do I submit this without a number or associated account for this phone? I am a EE customer on another phone.

Thanks for the quick reply.
So just to confirm there is still a charge even though orange is part of EE and you unlock EE payasyougo phones for free?

I think it would have been registerd to me as my son was under sixteen at the time and I purchased it for him.
Or if it was registered to him could I get him to do it?

If it registered to you or your son, you or he can just apply using the Unlocking your device form as the PAYG option and giving the mobile number that it used to have. It will first show your current phone on that number & ask whether that is the device you want to unlock? If not, you will then have to type in the IMEI of the old phone.
