Being charged for my device on day one of my contract

I received my device today put in and activated my new SIM checked my we app and site to see the cost of the phone is on my bill. It's like 700 odd quid. Obviously I didn't agree to this and wouldn't have. I'm wondering why this has happened as I'm only day one into my contract

Is there not an offsetting credit in the itemised items of the bill?

Re: Being charged for my device on day one of my contract

Hi,I had the same thing, the following day received a message saying I was near my credit limit, but don’t worry, it seems they put the cost of the handset on your bill, then take it back off, give CS a call tomorrow, they should explain and sort it out

That would be great, I'll give them a call in the morning anyway.

Not as of yet. I wasn't warned so this is why I'm paniced. I'll let you know tomorrow

I was alarmed, but hopefully it will be the same problem and the cost will disappear, I wouldn’t worry about it, but for peace of mind give them a call tomorrow
