Apple watch error code 008

I have been having issue with trying to set up my mobile data with my apple phone. I have been trying to get this up and running now and am in the 3 rd day of trying to get this working. Initially was getting error 007 and now getting error 008.

 

There has been issues with EE 150 number on new years day and seems to be up and down at the moment.

 

Can somebody assist in telling me what error 008 is?

 

Surprised that it taken this long to try and get up and running on a purchased product now 3 days ago and still trying to get this working.

Welcome to the community,

 

I would suggest you ring customer service and speak to them, they are the best people to get this sorted, or go to an EE store if there is one where you are, I am sure they will be able to help.

 

When I first got my watch,  I rang customer service and they sorted it out for me.

Hey @Schockwave 

 

Thank you for your response. You are correct whilst I finally got connected to 150, a very kind lady assist me in the activation process. Looks like 008 error code means that you should be ready for now getting activated after getting pass the 007 error code.

 

The reason why I was initially getting the error code 007 was becuase I already had 5 phones on my contract which was my set limit. Technically even though I am not getting another line, but having the watch means another line being linked to existing, so needed to get credit approval. As soon as I got past this, I started to see the 008 error. Now customer care is able to activate the watch with mobile data.

 

Looking forward to use this now.

I got an Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS & 4G) for Christmas and will be setting mine up later on.

 

I see @Schockwave and the customer service team have offered you some brilliant help so far.

 

Is it all up and running now?

@Christopher_G, What a great present that must be, I am sure you will enjoy it. I find it useful around the house, as I can leave my phone in one place without having to walk around with it and am always available with the Apple Watch, although I always take my IPhone X when going out, it connects to the bluetooth in the car.

I've found it hugely useful so far, although I've only been using the GPS functionalities and the phone functions when synced with my iPhone, @Schockwave.

 

Looking forward to getting the mobile plan set up. 🙂

I'm hoping that someone at EE might be able to confirm what error code 008 actually means? I've managed over the last couple of days to get the EE data plan displayed on my Apple Watch through a series of calls to L1 and L2 tech support. However now I'm stuck at the step where I would need to agree to the plan via the EE web page (which pops up within the Apple Watch app) but then get the 008 message. It's very frustrating how complicated this is proving to be because my switch to EE from Vodafone was all driven by the watch purchase. Apparently I'm due a call back from DST team within 72 hours but have no clue if they work weekends? 

 

Is there any self help available for this specific message?

The DST team do work over the weekend. 🙂

 

This is in the best hands. They are fully trained in how to resolve each error code.

 

As hard as that it may be, please don’t try to set up the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS +4G) again.

 

Repeating these actions creates a back log within the system which makes it harder for the technical teams to undo.

 

Please let us know how you get on, once you've heard back.

Hi @Stevewalker74,

 

It took me nearly 5 days to get my watch up and running and I understand the fustration you must be going though. I finally got through to 2nd line technical support specialist and the support consultant was Rachael Quarry, she kept to her commitment and resolved my final error code issue 0031 (provisioning error) although it seems like I had every possible error code 007, 008, 0030 and 0031 over the past 5 days. She was great and understood my frustration after 5 days, committed a time to get back to me, and she did. She also was able to reset the phone what seems to me using the correct process and got me up and running in 30 mins after we had our discussion.

 

She displayed great problem management and ownership skills and seem to be the only one that knew how to fix my issue quickly. Thank you Rachael Quarry.
