Your phone will tell you when your upgrade is available. I don't believe its fully available until the 17/1/17 but those who are on the beta test receive the update first.
If I was you then I would install BTU firmware via Sams mobile as you can still use the WIFI calling service and you receive any updates first.

l would say probably shortly after the S8 is out so i'll probably never see it on my phone but i'm enjoying 7.1.1 on my Pixel C tablet.

As of today (14th) I was told working on it and 4-6 weeks to go. Longer if issues found. I asked why so long (O2 already rolled for S7) and apparently something to do with that useless wi-fi calling function which is specific to EEand the cause of the delay

The calls of wifi was an "issue" in the last OS update. I find it very very hard to beleive the fix or change that was put in place to allow it to work with Marshmallow doesn't work with Nougat.
Samsung have the feature in the device so it must be an EE specific setting or change which is fine but if its been done once why is it so hard now?
I strongly beleive this is an excuse and no one has been able to provide information to prove otherwise.
But please please if you have any information on the changes in Nougat that would reinstate the issues of the wifi calling please let the EE customers know.
