TMF12 error on new iPad

Hi I’ve just bought a new iPad 9.7 inch, with Apple SIM card. I tried to buy data with EE, but have got the dreaded TMF12 error. I can see in the forum this is common. Has there been a solution? I previously had a pay as you go SIM card with Three on my old iPad, and never had a problem buying data when needed. If there’s no solution, then I may go and get a new Sim card from them. Can someone tell me what the current situation is with this error code? As it’s annoying not to be able to buy data when I’m away from Wi-fi. Thanks
