Did you activate roaming before you leaving the UK?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are 8am to 9pm weekday, 8am to 8pm on weekends.

Welcome to the community, I hope you're having a great time in South Africa so far. 🙂

 

Further to @Northerner's question, you can check the status of roaming in your My EE account by tapping Menu >>> Manage device.

 

If roaming is activated, please try the troubleshooting below:-

 

Try re-booting your device

 

Try turning 4G off in ‘settings’

 

Perform a manual network search:-

 

  • iPhone – Settings > Carrier > Toggle Automatic OFF
  • Android – Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Tap OK
  • Windows – Settings > Mobile Network > Network Selection > Tap on start manual search
