SMS not sending

Hi, I’m having trouble sending messages from my iPhone 7+. I can receive messages but the recipient doesn’t receive them. There are no warnings on my messages page to say they have failed to send etc. I’ve tried the following;

hard reset,

turning off Wi-fi calling & restarting,

restarting the mobile data settings,

turning on and off iMessage,

turning on and off mms messaging,

 

the phone software is up up to date 

So I believe it may be a carrier setting.

Hi, 

 

If you disable imessage under settings do they receive the message?

 

Does this problem happen with only one number?

Hi, I’m not able to send texts to any number with either iMessage turned off or on. This problem has only began a short while ago.

I can receive messages from all numbers too.

No I haven’t changed anything. I have the phone over a year now but only have the trouble this past few months.

Have you got the latest iOS for the iPhone?

 

Have you backed the phone up via iTunes or iCloud and then tried restoring it?

Please check out the Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad apple support page.

 

This should take care of what you are looking for.

Thanks Richard. I brought my phone to  an EE store yesterday to try and resolve this. I was told that you can’t manually change the carrier settings on an iPhone 7+ and that the best thing to do was connect it to iTunes via a Mac or pc. I haven’t tried this as yet but will give it a go this morning.

Hi, no luck I’m afraid. I completed a full restore of the phone and it’s still not sending messages !!

Are you able to try your SIM card in another phone at all?

 

This will let us know if it's your SIM or phone.

Hi, I’ve tried the SIM card in a different  phone and the messages don’t send either. I’ve been speaking to at least 2 other people that have had this problem on PAYG. They ended up switching back to O2 as no one in EE could help. I brought this phone back to an EE shop and they said there was nothing they could do for me.

 

I need this resolved ASAP as I’m not getting the full service I’m paying for and haven’t been for a few months now.

That more or less rules out an issue with the phone/settings.

 

Is it possible for you to pop into an EE store so that they can try a replacement SIM card for you?
