My bill has increased in monthly charge without warning. I checked the app and it isn’t showing any extra charges, but that the cost I am supposed to be paying has increased. Have EE put their prices up and not made me aware of this?

Look in the itemised & add-on sections of your bill. It should show any extra charges.
This is for mobile not Broadband, isn't it?
