My thoughts are a little sketchy on this, but make sure "NFC" is ENABLED"! and try and log in again!

Do you mean the WiFi button or the VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) button? It's usually only the latter that is greyed out if you don't have an EE phone.

@Jacs1 On the device go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, the device will reboot and hopefully the WiFi toggle is now not greyed out. If it is you’ll need to book an Apple appointment as the device could be faulty.
@XRaySpeX It’s an iPhone so it doesn’t have to be a EE device it just needs to be on contract for WiFi calling.

Yes, @Chris_B, I should've added that it could be on PAYG. The point is that the WiFi button itself should never be greyed out on any phone.
