Is your old number also on EE?
Can you not just put the current sim into the device?

When you purchased this new phone did the advisor not say you can get a sim replacement to move the number and all that across?
You cant port a number to a new sim any other way.
Is your current PAYG plan on EE already?
If so ring up EE and ask for a sim replacement and that you need a micro sim to fit your new device.

@Pradeep62 why not just call customer services now and get it started.

This is the same with every network.
You can't just swap numbers via sims.

As @Chris_B advised if you have taken out a new EE contract you can't transfer a current EE number onto this contract.
Porting within networks is not allowed.
You would need to port your current EE number to another network then port it back in to EE.
Thanks - Karen.
