Hi. I have Samung S6 recently updated to Android 7.0
Android File Transfer on my MacBook Pro was working fine, however, now I get the message "can't access device storage" even though the window beneath this message shows all the folders on my phone.
Selecting 'file transfer' from USB options
Toggling between various USB options
Turning on developer options
USB debugging mode
Clicking 'ok' on the mac and 'allow' on my phone in various sequences.
Uninstalling Kies from my Mac (if it's possible to uninstall from the phone I'd appreciate details on how to do this)
Disconnecting and restarting after each attempt
Dowloading AirDroid, which has enabled me to transfer some photos to my Mac but it took half a day to transfer a few hundred items.
I also connected with my partener's phone, which works fine so I figure the problem lies with my phone and not the Mac or cable.
Any suggestions on how to get Android File Transfer working again would be appreciated as my phone storage is full to the brim!

Thanks @Lee_H, it's connecting in safe mode and I've managed to get all my files onto my Mac. Thank you so much, I was near breaking point haha. Had to look up safe mode to do it - so many tricks I have no idea about.
This works great and I can carry on like this, but does it mean I'll need to put my phone into safe mode everytime I want to connect to my computer?
