@Akerr: Does your HTC have a separate section for WiFi networks? Does your Brightbox appear under that?

If it does't have 1, maybe it lumps all WiFi networks under Mobile Hotspots.

Or HTC uses a weird detection method for mobile hotspots.

It sees EE as a mobile xarrcar and goes "well an EE device must be a mobile hotspot".

Can you change the device name? Along shot but worth a go.

Yes, you may change the Wireless Network Name (SSID) under Basic Settings / Wireless Settings.

Must be cuz EE is predominantly a mobile purveyor Smiley Wink.

It's not telling you that your router is a mobile hotspot it's asking you to tick the box if it is. It's part of Android. On Samsung phones the menu is called Restrict Networks.
