Unlock a second hand device

Hello All!

I Bought a second hand device (Google Pixel XL) from a store in Dubai, UAE. I didn't know that this phone is locked to EE. When i get back to my country, i saw that this phone is locked to EE UK. I called to EE for unlock this phone but the operator says that we unable to unlock this phone.

Anyone Can Help ME To Unlock My Phone, Please?

Re: Unlock a second hand device

@smoslemi  if you’ve connected customer service and they say they can not help you then the device can not be unlocked.

If the device is blacklisted because it’s been reported lost/stolen then the blacklist will not be removed for you. And I’ll think you’ll find that’s why it will not be unlocked for you.

Re: Unlock a second hand device

Is it the pixel 1 or the pixel 2.

If it's the 2nd edition then I'm sure it isn't even 6 months old yet so EE still technically own the device so can' be unlocked.

Re: Unlock a second hand device

Try again on this route:

To unlock a 2nd-hand phone you need to call Customer Services on 0800 956 6000 (option 2, option 4) to put you in touch with the Unlocking Team to request an Unlock Code. You will be asked for your email addy. They will take payment (of £8.99) from any valid UK bank card.

Once the process has been started you will receive an email from the Unlocking Team to process the unlock. It can take up to 10 days to complete the unlock.

But even so beware that EE could still refuse to unlock it. Many phones sold 2nd-hand have been reported lost or stolen, have been sold by the original owner when under 6 months old without EE's permission or have money owing on them.

If that is the case your only remedy is against whoever you got the phone from.

Re: Unlock a second hand device

I tried dialling that number and it does not put you in touch with the unlock team. Option2 takes you to a wi-fi option then there is no option 4

Are you looking at unlocking a device?
