This is just a feature on your account which is available with your phone.

Hi Folks 🙂
I also want to know how to turn this off. I have no need for it, no desire to use it, and I absolutely do not want the icon cluttering up my notification bar. Why can I not disable it on my shiny new S8?
I have Nova Launcher, which someone mentioned allowed you to disable it, but I can't find the option there either.
How do I make this go away??

Why would you want to disable a useful function?
It doesnt even clutter the notification bar.
I am unsure about Nova but on the native launcher you are unable to.

Nova doesn't let you turn off VoLTE, it will hide the status bar though.
I'm unsure why anyone would want to turn off the ability to make calls over the 4G network.

I don't use data, so it's a function I'll never use. And yes, it does clutter the notification bar (or maybe it's the status bar - I mean the thin one at the top with the little battery icon, clock, etc). I have an icon there for something I don't want, didn't ask for, and won't use. It's unnecessary and doesn't need to be there. Anything that doesn't need to be where it is is clutter, and I don't want to be looking at it.

VoLTE or Vo4G is not data it's making phone calls over the 4G network.
If you don't use data then just turn data off then it'll disappear.
Better yet turn your phone to 2G and 3G more only.

VoLTE is not about mobile data, it doesn't use up your data allowance or cost extra. It's voice calls. If you are in a rural area with only 4G coverage, or in an area where the 3G and 2G are congested then you need 4G for voice.
