Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

Hi @mitchjcrawford,

Welcome to the EE Community.

Do you only see this error in one location or everywhere?

Does it also happen when connected to WiFi?

Thanks

James

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

Hi James,

This happens in multiple locations - notice it alot at work where i am without wifi.

I've not noticed the issue occuring on my home wifi, not tested elsewhere.

Thanks,

Mitch

Hi @mitchjcrawford,

Have you had this issue since you first got the phone or has it only recently started happening?

Thanks

James

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

OK @mitchjcrawford, let's see if this helps...

Please go to Settings>>Wireless & networks>>More>>Mobile networks>>Access point names>>EE Internet

Tap Username and delete all the text before selecting OK.

Repeat the last step for Password.

Once you have updated these settings, let me know if this resolves the issue.

Thanks

James

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

Can you try deleting the current APN and manually adding with the below;

Name Internet

APN everywhere

Proxy Leave Blank

Port Leave Blank

Username Leave Blank

Password Leave Blank

Server Leave Blank

MMSC http://mms/

MMS Proxy 149.254.201.135

MMS Port 8080

MCC 234

MNC 30

Authentication Type PAP

APN Type If you have choices select internet + mms otherwise type in *

If that doesn't work is there anywhere to change IPv6 to IPv4?

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

Hi,

I tried the above and it results in an 'x' appearing next to my signal strength icon.

Wouldn't load websites at all with this configuration.

Have reset to default and same issue.

All instances of IPv were already IPv4.

Thanks

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

I'm getting this same issue. Some sites work, some return this DNS error when I'm on 4G (or any other mobile network type). Everything works fine on wifi. Not related to location, I get the same problem in various locations.

Did you get a solution to this?

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

Ive been getting this a lot lately too. Used to be able to read the news on my phone on the train into work, but now all i ever seem to get is those messages. Ever since EE got bought out by BT i've had problems.

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

I tried all of the above, none of it seemed to produce instant results.
However, I no longer seem to be getting the issue. I can't really say what worked in the end.

I reset the settings to default and tried inputting the above a couple of times.

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be found

This is on 4G. When i get 4G plus, nothing works. This issue still hasnt been resolved after reporting it a while ago. Standard response of "restart the phone and try again" isnt a solution to the problem.
