Texting stop pack will £5 credit be available if required in an emergency

As I will only use the 'pay as you go' phone for an emergency in the car I have added a £5 credit, turned it off and sent the above text to EE, I was led to believe that credit will still be there if I need it, in a month or 6 months. Is this correct?

I have no other use for carrying a mobile phone.

Hello @Mazdaman the £5 credit will stay there yes but you need to make a call or text at least once every 3months to keep the SIM active & keep the credit. Here is a link containing more information on the EE PAYG hibernation process. :):
