Problems with WIFI Calling and VOLTE

Hi,

I have a Galaxy NOTE8 supplied on contract from you guys.  I was on the old android OS 7 and everything worked a treat.  Then an update appeared on my device - the new OS. Android 8.

Since updating to this my WIFI calling is now not usable, VOLTE is not usable.  I basically cant make or receive calls on my phone anymore.  EE seem to have disabled the menu option to turn off VOLTE?!

 

Problems:

On WIFI calling I seem to be able to make calls okay.  When I receive calls, they are just silent.  I have tried multiple WIFI networks in different locations.

 

On VOLTE making and receiving calls does not work at all.  I get a scratchy garbled noise both ways.

 

If I disable 4G all is okay.  I just dont get my 4G internet anymore!

 

I have tried resetting network settings on my phone with no luck.

Finally got a call from EE support (I have been waiting 2 days for).  Got through to second line tech - they have confirmed an issue between iphones and samsung on WIFI / VOLTE calling.

Nothing I can do until they roll out an update.  They are currently waiting for Samsung at the moment.

I would have loved to have tried the factory reset...but I have been putting it off and putting it off as it will take up a lot of my time, which I dont have just now.

Thankfully I didnt try this for the reason above - it wouldnt have helped.

Have you tried clearing the system cache via recovery? Or factory resetting?

Im just doing the cache partition wipe now.

I was trying to avoid doing a factory reset as last time I did this I lost loads of settings etc that the backup never restored and it took me ages to get everything back to normal!

I have had garbled calls with a iphone 8 and iphone x.

The silent calls have happened with iphone x.

Ive had no contact from EE as of yet!

Lee is offline so I cant ask him what is happening.
