New EVR firmware G930FXXU1BPLJ for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Hi

I've just had my S7 (SM-G930F) OTA updated this morning to EVR build G930FXXU1BPLJ which has a build date of 15.12.2016. I've not noticed any specific changes so far - does anyone here know what has been improved or what new bugs have been found?

Thanks

Peter

Re: New EVR firmware G930FXXU1BPLJ for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Hi,

It will be security updates. If you go into Settings - about device - software info and scroll to the bottom it will tell you what security patch level you are now at.

I would add that android 7 will be released shortly as I am/was beta testing it on my S7 but this has now come to an end. Android 7 is considerably better (smoother, quicker, better battery) than 6.

Thanks,

Re: New EVR firmware G930FXXU1BPLJ for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Hi

The Android security patch level on build MMB29K.G930FXXU1BPLJ is 1 December 2016. The build was done on 15th December.

I guess the other Security Policy updates (in Lock Screen/Other security settings) are SELinux policy updates only rather than patches to libraries and apps.

The baseband is now G930FXXU1BPL1.
