My phone seems to have recently been taken over by someone else?

Programmes I have on my mobile keep opening and closing randomly on their own and my photos open up and then zoom in and out, in and out and I cannot do anything to control these things ... it's like I've been locked out of my own phone. The only way I get back control again is when I take the battery out and put it back in again. This all happened after I had installed an app for Alexa on my mobile called IFTTT ... I have since removed this app but the problem still persists. Has anyone any input about this issue?

Faulty touch screen is sending your phone haywire.

Hi @Wraakian

Welcome to the community.

What is the make and model of your phone?

Also, did you get it from EE directly?

Re: My phone seems to have recently been taken over by someone else?

Hi Chris and thanks for the reply.

Yes I purchased my Samsung S5 via ee a long time ago now ... originally took out insurance with the contract but now out of contract and I think the insurance got taken off when another company tried to change me to a new phone that I found out was not as good as mine and so I cancelled the deal and the insurance never went back on when I was reverted back to my old contract by ee. Thanks again Chris.

Re: My phone seems to have recently been taken over by someone else?

No worries, @Wraakian. Thanks for getting back to me.

There are numerous reasons why this would happen, including software issues.

I recommend backing everything up and restoring to factory settings (if you're able to):-

Tap Apps >>> Settings >>> Backup and reset >>> Tap Factory data reset >>>

Tap Reset device >>> Tap Erase everything.

Then run through the set-up wizard as a new phone. You can re-add everything to your phone after this.

This sometimes resolves problems like this.

Please give it a try and let me know what happens.

Thanks again Chris it's gone back to normal now without doing anything but
will try to reset to factory settings should it occur again.

Thanks again for your help Chris
