My phone has been lost/stolen

Hi

My son has had his phone stolen he had it 6 weeks ago for his birthday he's a second line on my sim only contract so i purchased a pay as you go phone from an ee shop and put his sim in it,I've rung ee and asked them to block the sim and phone...My question is would whoever has it be able to get it unlocked and use it as i'd hate to think that the thieving b*****d gets a brand new £200 phone stole from a 13 yr old.

Re: My phone has been lost/stolen

Hi @Mattr0805

Once blacklisted the phone is useless, other than for spare parts. What device was stolen?

Thanks

Re: My phone has been lost/stolen

Hi @Mattr0805

Did you son register their device with Huawei?  If so the device maybe traceable via their Huawei account: https://www.huawei.com/en/my-huawei/login?redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.huawei.com%2fen%2fmy-huawei

Thanks,

Re: My phone has been lost/stolen

Hi @Mattr0805,

Welcome back to the community.

I'm sorry to hear your son's phone has been stolen.

@Northerner is correct in saying that the phone won't be able to be used once blacklisted.

Thanks

James
