Galaxy S9 - Updates (again) yawn!

EE care to comment why the S9 is 4 updates behind on EE EVR?  Still on ARD1 on EVR yet ARD4, BRE5, BRF3 & BRF8 have been released by Samsung with some very important patches???

"your handset will notify you as and when an update becomes available".  "we thoroughly test all updates blah blah" <-  See I did it for you.

I know i'm banging on again but now can we have a serious reply to WHY it's taking 3 months and 4 missed updates on a flagship handset? Seriously?

Re: Galaxy S9 - Updates (again) yawn!

@terracuk well said waiting for same on s9 plus.

I really don’t see the hold up as justified other networks don’t need this long to “test”

Hi @terracuk

I don't know if you've had a look yet, but, we have a software update blog post that explains how software updates are processed.

Once an update has been given the OK by everyone involved, approval to launch and deploy is given. The update is then added to the supplier's servers for rolling out over-the-air.

Thanks

Chris

So we are led to believe that 4 updates from Samsung are not good enough for EE to release?  EE have knocked these back and waiting for Samsung to release something that is adequate?

Thanks

Re: Galaxy S9 - Updates (again) yawn!

Great thanks for that @fridgeman Just flashed mine back to btu and indeed it does work 👍

However one thing do you know why it enables location when you connect to WiFi I think it’s to do with WiFi calling as when I come back in it switches it on.

Really don’t want my battery run down because I keep forgetting to turn it off

Thanks

Re: Galaxy S9 - Updates (again) yawn!

Thanks but that needs location too. I can’t see why you would need location for WiFi or WiFi calling. It didn’t on the Ee firmware.
