Galaxy S7 Edge WiFi calling

Hello all and a Happy New Year to you. 🙂

 

Long time customer of EE (small business package, so not sure if this has a bearing) and I got a shiny new S7 Edge for Christmas.

 

It has the stock UK BTU firmware on it, I believe:

 

AP:   G935FXXU1BPLB
CP:   G935FXXU1BPJJ
CSC:  G935FBTU1BPK3

 

But, even though WiFi calling is enabled in the App-phone setting, I have never received a text message, nor have I been able to use it (case in point - where I am now there is no mobile signal whatsoever, but I have no WiFi calling ability).

 

Could anyone shed any light on this please?

Hi, 

 

Its not available straight away and can take 24 hours to activate. Please see EE guide here.

 

Also you need wifi activated on the phone.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are 8am to 9pm weekday, 8am to 8pm on weekends.

Oh and yes...it has WiFi connected 🙂

 

And I've tried three different locations with various flavours of WiFi (BT business, Sky residential and Virgin cable) just in case it was active and I had no SMS confirmation due to being a business account.

 

And I've also opened up UDP 500 and 4500 (IKEv2) on two of those locations. Again, just in case.

The last thing would to check that the product is enabled on your account.

 

If you give Business Customer Services a call they'll be able to double check.

I just got off the phone with them 🙂

 

It wasn't enabled apparently so it has been, aloing with 4G calling.

 

I will wait a little while then power cycle the phone and see how things go.

Just thought I'd provide an update. It still didn't work after speaking to the support team so I was escalated and after checking that I had the correct firmware versions, I was sent an SMS to activate it. The SMS came through and I restarted my phone but still nothing.

 

I've been told that because I didn't buy the phone from EE - tough - take it back to the place I bought it.

 

 Nice service for a business contract of over two years averaging £130 a month spend.

The services is definitely supported on both direct and indirect for your model.
