EE- 4GEE WiFi Mini

Hi We have recently signed up on an 18 mth contract EE- 4GEE WiFi Mini. It works great as an alternative wifi connection for our desktop (our internet is really poor generally) but I cannot get it to work on my Samsung A3 (talk mobile sim). It shows the broadband strength as excellent but I keep getting a message to say that internet may not be available and to connect to another network (this is even when my phone is sitting right beside the mini hub). Can anyone tell me why this would be the case?

Good morning @jcmcn

Thank you for coming to see us in community 🙂

Are you trying to connect it via WiFi?

Is the WiFi turned on on the Samsung A3 and if so is the 4GEE WiFi Mini picking it up as a recognised device?

Have you set the 4GEE WiFi Mini up as a hot spot?

If not, here is how you do it from our 4GEE WiFi Mini help and support pages.

Find out how to change the WiFi network name and password on your device

  • Connect the device to the PC via the USB cable.
  • Launch a web browser and in the address bar, enter http://ee.mobilebroadband then click the arrow icon or press Enter.
  • From the home page, click log in here to access settings.
  • Enter the required username and password, then click OK.
  • Click WiFi Setting under the Quick Setup tab.
  • Click the SSID field, then enter the required hotspot name.
  • Click the Security dropdown.
  • Click the desired security type (e.g. WPA2 PSK).
  • Click the Key field, then enter the required password.
  • Note: To view the password, tick Show Password tickbox.
  • Click Apply or Save.
  • If prompted, click OK.

The WiFi network name and password have been changed, and the device has been set up as a WiFi hotspot.

Let me know if this helps.
