Download updates manually greyed out

I have a galaxy s7 ee stock  and trying  to get Nougat update. Option "download updates manually" is greyed out in settings and i cannot access it to try and force an update as other users recommend. Download updates automatically is available to toggle on or off.

Any suggestions?

Re: Download updates manually greyed out

Hello @gediredi are you trying to download on WiFi or 3/4G? What about restarting the device? 🙂

Re: Download updates manually greyed out

Try normally on WiFi at home. Also tried rebooting many many times.

Tried turning off WiFi and using 4g nothing doing!

Option is permanently greyed out.

Re: Download updates manually greyed out

Your only other option now is to back up the device and do a factory Restore.

If not then take it in for repair which is what they'll end up doing anyway.

Hello @gediredi just to confirm have you got the phone on charge or 50%+ battery when trying? 🙂

Re: Download updates manually greyed out

@Profile closed doesn't matter if your below 50% you should still be able to Search for updates.

The OP only other option now is a factory Restore.
