Can't connect to internet when no wifi available

For weeks I've only had internet connection via wifi. Think I may have inadvertently altered settings but don't know which ones are involved. Help!

What phone are you using?

 

Have you restarted the phone and made sure mobile data is enabled?

It's a Samsung A8. I've switched it off, restarted it and made sure Wifi is enabled. If I switch off wifi I can't connect to internet. Internet worked perfectly until I messed about with settings to try to minimise data usage.

What settings were you adjusting?

 

Can you remember if you changed the APN settings?

 

You could try master resetting the phone so that all settings go back to default, but we may be able to avoid this.
