Had my phone for a couple of weeks but all of a sudden Apple Music won't work. You click on the icon and then it just closes. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, switched off and back on but still not working. Any ideas anyone?

Try going into settings - applications/apps manager, find the app and clear the cache/data

Thanks for this, got a bit further now, but it says "cannot verify subscription....". This is something that I am paying for so not a freebie and I've had it a while. How do I get around this next phase. Also I am now stuck on a purple screen with nothing happening.

Thanks @michellejerry71. I now realise that you'd already said which phone you're using in the subject of your post. Apologies for that. 🙂
It seems that you've tried everything we'd usually recommend. Uninstalling and re-installing the app usually fixes problems like this.
If everything else is working OK on your phone, I recommend taking a look at Apple's Apple Music support page.
Let us know how you get on.

OK, so I contacted Apple and it seems you can only subscribe to 6 devices with my family package. So I have now uninstalled the app on two older phones that are no longer in use and I have now got a little bit further. I now get to the bit where I re-key sign in details but the app just then shuts down. I then go into settings and clear cache and data and then re-try but the same thing happens. Do you think I have a fault on my new phone? When I was setting up this phone a couple of weeks ago I struggled to get the keyboard to work so not sure now if it is a faulty phone?? Any ideas guys??

No not working. I have contacted Apple and my subscription is all ok. When I google, there seems to be a lot of people with this problem who are on the EE network and with a Huawei phone.

Hello there @Nicnicwhi
Thanks for coming back to the community.
Has this worked previously for you?
Have you tried the steps provided by @Northerner
Go to Settings > Applications > find the app and clear the Cache/data.
Can you also try Settings > Applications > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear Cache > Manage Data> Clear all app data.
Speak soon, Leanne.
