Hi @Hammu

Your replacement device

Your replacement device may be refurbished, but we test each one to make sure they’re fully working. Your replacement will be the same or a similar specification to your old device, but it may be a different model or operating system.

If we don’t have your device in stock and can’t find a suitable replacement, your delivery will be made as soon as a suitable device is available.

If your replacement device is found to be faulty within the period of your original device’s manufacturer’s warranty, we will either repair or replace your device at no additional charge.

Your replacement device will come with a warranty from EE for either the time period of what’s left of the manufacturer’s warranty, from the original device, or 30-day warranty, whichever is the longer. The replacement device will still be insured until your cover ends.

You can read your policy here:

https://ee.co.uk/help/terms-and-conditions/insurance-warranty/full-cover-and-damage-cover

If you're unhappy then you need to follow the complaints process as outlined in the policy via the above link.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

Hi @Hammu

Which make/model & memory size phone did you originally have, and what is the make/model/memory of the replacement you're being offered?

Some would argue that Android & Apple should not be considered replacements for the other!

I certainly would - but to be fair, this sort of clause is not uncommon with insurance policies. I suspect if you were to research, it'd be 50/50 between this wording and "equal or better" across the industry.

I think this just shows what a  ripoff a lot of insurance policies like this are. If you had an iphone you certainly wouldn't want an android device as a replacement, or vice-versa.

Much better to save the monthly insurance payments and put them in a savings account and use that if you need to buy a new phone.
