For a while now we’ve been offering the BT Sport app to our customers for just £5 a month (inclusive for our Max plan customers), and it seems the football fanatics among you are loving it.
But we know watching sporting events on your phone doesn’t give you quite the same experience as being able to watch it on your TV. That’s why we’ve now started offering BT Sport casting, which lets you flick whatever you’re watching in the BT Sport app straight onto your TV at home if you have Apple TV or Google Chromecast.
What more reason do you need to invite friends and family over to watch the game with you instead of getting in expensive rounds at the pub? Just decide whatever it is you want to watch and at the touch of a button (or screen) you’ll be seeing it in all its glory from the comfort of your sofa.
So, what is the BT Sport app?
The BT Sport app brings you all the best live sporting action. You can look forward to Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup matches, as well as BT Sport Fight Night Live boxing events, MotoGP race days, cricket, American sports and lots more.
The BT Sport app also includes exclusive content you won’t find anywhere else and an interactive timeline that lets you switch between key moments, multi-cam replays and viewable goal alerts. And if you’ve missed out on the live action or want to watch something all over again, just go to the catch-up section.
Sounds great. What do I need to do to get started?
Well, if you haven’t taken up our BT Sport offer before, you’re in for an extra treat, because with every new Essential plan we’re offering three months free access to the BT Sport app including free BT Sport casting .
If you’ve already taken advantage of a BT Sport offer in the past, or you’re on a Max plan where the app is included, you’ll still get three months of free casting to your telly. And to top it off, the data you use to stream BT Sport content in the UK is on us – it won’t come out of your allowance.
Then, when your trial expires, it’s £5 a month for the BT Sport app and an additional £10 a month for BT Sport casting.
Best of all, there’s no commitment. So you can try it out, see if you like it, and simply cancel if you’re not making use of it.
Whether you’re already using the BT Sport app, or you’re new to it, all you have to do to get started is text SPORT to 150 and we’ll send you all the info you need.
How does casting work?
It’s really simple. All you need is Apple TV or Google Chromecast, both of which you can buy from our online shop. Then just follow our Apple TV casting guide or our Google Chromecast casting guide.
Can I use it abroad?
You can use your BT Sport subscription in Europe, so you don’t need to worry about missing out on those important matches while you’re sunning yourself by the pool. But just remember that if you’re abroad all the data you use will come out of your allowance and usage is subject to terms and conditions.
