Is there a patch from EE for routers to protect against Krack?

Is there a patch from EE for routers to protect against Krack?

If not from EE, the router provider should provide this patch.

@pjc49  If a patch is needed as not all devices need to be updated because there is no risk to the device it will be pushed out and this will not happen over night and it will need to be tested.       This is going to take a couple of weeks at best.

Took this info from the Sky forum if anyone is interested as it's an interesting thread.

1- Router manufactures that have already patched their routers

https://www.windowscentral.com/vendors-who-have-patched-krack-wpa2-wi-fi-vulnerability

2- Microsoft’s Statement regarding this security flaw

3- Further informational advisory

https://www.wired.co.uk/article/krack-wifi-cybersecurity-standards

I don't use my Q router but my wireless access point which is connected via the  powerline. Upgraded my Netgear wireless access point today.

I note with interest that Netgear claims:

•Routers and gateways are only affected when in bridge mode (which is not enabled by default and not used by most customers). A WPA-2 handshake is initiated by a router in bridge mode only when connecting or reconnecting to a router.

Hi @pjc49,

Any updates to your router firmware are pushed out automatically, you won't necessarily be informed.

We'll make sure to update the community if we have any new information.

Thanks

James
