I am new customer, Have 4gee dongle and sim. how do I get it to work?

I have the 4GEE WIFI dongle and have just put a new nano sim into it. How do I activate it and put the £10 top up voucher on it? Also I would like to make sure I have the best internet package attached to this sim. Thanks.

Text VO followed by a space and then the 16-digit voucher number to 150 from it. For example: VO 1234567891234567 .

Might sound silly but how do I text from the dongle ?? I have it connected and have a top up voucher ready.

Thank you for your time. I was just hotspotting with GiffGaff but they just sent me a message saying I'm using too much data.

Most MBB routers can do SMS. Which 1 do you have?

Ah, so it's not a dongle then but a router.

 

Browse to http://192.168.1.1 & login as "admin"/"admin". Go to the SMS section of the router.

I guess so, I've just bought it from a friend who never used it and put a new sim in. Am I able to configure it and get it working without going into the store?

You should be able to. There's not much to configure. Did he not give you the Getting Started Guide?

Great success. I've managed to top up the ten pounds from my vouvher. Will this just be used at a standard rate or is there a WIFI data bundle deal I can set?

There is no standard rate for data. You need to buy a data add-on with it. Usually data SIMs are pre-configured with a data-add-on.

 

  1. What does http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status report?
  2. What does texting AL to 150 report?
