How to change Wifi key after 4GEE Home firmware upgrade?

I've just updated the firmware on my 4GEE Router to HH70_E1_02.00_23. Since then I have not been able to change the Wifi key for either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz wifi. Typing anything at all in the Wifi Key box brings up a message in red that 'WPA pre-shared key (PSK) should be between 8-63 ASCII characters. WPA PSK should be between 32-127 ASCII characters, not including: , " : ; \ &.', and it is not possible to save any changes.

Is this a bug in the new firmware or is there a simple solution?

I had that issue along with many others. I had to use one number, one capital in my usual password. for example,  say donkey was password, change it to 1Donkey

Thanks. Tried that as well, and still no luck. It’s a puzzle!

Hi @retsam67

Welcome to the community. 🙂

Are you using the WLAN Key that is printed on the 'keep me' card or on the back of the router itself?

Thanks. It’s the default key printed on the bottom of the router (4GEE Home
Router 2017).

Thanks @retsam67

I know you've probably tried this already, but could you try rebooting the router and trying again?

Thanks

Thanks again. Yes, I tried that and no luck unfortunately. Is it possible
to try re-installing the firmware, or rolling back to the previous version?

OK, thanks @retsam67

I think it's probably best to speak to our technical support team.

They'll be able to help you further with this.

Please come back and let me know what happens though.

Try factory resetting the router, not just rebooting - see Perform a Master Reset via hardware .

At least 1 capital letter and 1 number in the password worked perfectly. Thanks for the solution!
