Connecting 4GEE WIFI to thunderbolt 3

I have just purchased the 4GEE WIFI and attempted to connect it to my MAC book Pro 15inch 2017. Given that the hub has a USB C connector I assumed it would have no problem connecting USBC to Thunderbolt 3 (USBC). However, when I connect it it doesn't charge and it doesn't get recognised. I have connected it via a usb 2 adapter and it connects for a short time before being disconnected for drawing too much power. It connects fine to my older mac book so its not an issue with the cable.

Is there any reason it wont connect via a usb-c usb-c cable?

Re: Connecting 4GEE WIFI to thunderbolt 3

It's meant to connect, for charging purposes only, using the standard USB cable that came with it.

Hi @danrobertdson and welcome to the community.

As @XRaySpeX has mentioned you can only use the standard usb connection and no USB C to USB c.

Many thanks,
