@dani_0209   Nothing will happen.  The USB port on the router is to connect a USB store device so you can have a remote storage device.

Re: 4GEE Router HH70VB USB Connect PC

Is that the 4GEE Home Router with 2 Ethernet ports? If so, use those for connecting PCs.

Re: 4GEE Router HH70VB USB Connect PC

@Northerner  Can that article be right? There is no mention of connecting the router to the PC via the Ethernet ports, which I would have thought was intended to be a major facility of the 4GEE Home Router.

It looks to me to be a hash-up of the instructions for the earlier 4GEE WiFi non-Ethernet routers .which do have the USB port as a quasi-Ethernet connection. Does that carry forward to the 4GEE Home Router? I would have thought not as it has 2 Ethernet ports to fulfil that function.

I believe, as you were told earlier by @Chris_B , that it is there solely to provide a remote USB storage device for things like flash drives.

With EE's earlier 4GEE routers, that do not have Ethernet ports, the USB would provide a quasi-Ethernet connection for PCs etc. I don't believe that to be the case with this 4GEE Home Router as it has sufficient real Ethernet ports of its own, making it unnecessary for the USB to provide another.

When you 1st connect the USB to a PC does a notification appear at bottom R to the effect a new drive "4GEE Web Connection" has appeared & inviting to you to click on it?

Has a folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Web Connection\ appeared on your PC?
