4GEE Mini question

Hello,

I am not a EE customer just yet. I noticed in my local PC World they are selling the 4GEE router for £10 which includes a pay monthly sim card. Or £90 for a pay as you go. Am looking at getting the £10 one to bring to work with me during my night shifts and buying the 1 month rolling contact sim.

I'm just wondering though. If for what ever reason I don't want to continue using the 1 month rolling contact sim. Can I switch over to a standard pay as you go EE sim? Or can I unlock the router and use another network pay monthly/pay as you go sim?

Thanks.

Re: 4GEE Mini question

Yes, you pay PCW £10 upfront for the device & then £30 / month in advance to EE for the data until you want to stop.

Re: 4GEE Mini question

@johnooo  It’ll be on a contract not a 30 day rolling sim, so you’ll have to finish the contract or pay it off and it will work on a EE payg sim.  You’ll need to have it unlocked to use on a different network.

Re: 4GEE Mini question

  1. You will need to call EE to give 30 days notice to switch you to PAYG.
  2. Yes, it may be unlocked by calling EE. It takes about 10 days.

Re: 4GEE Mini question

Thank you for the help @Chris_B and @XRaySpeX

According to the link: It's a 1 month rolling contact?

https://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/phones-broadband-and-sat-nav/broadband/mobile-broadband/4gee-mini-pay...

Never had a contact/rolling sim before always been PAYG. So I have no idea how all this works. I assume I buy the 4GEE Wifi modem for £10. Then I can choose what package I want in my case would be the £30 30GB package.
